High School Biography

Saquon Barkley went to Whitehall High School, in Whitehall Township, PA.  There he went on to star for his team.. From his sophomore to senior season in high school, he ran for 3,646 yards with 63 touchdowns.  His senior year is when he really made a name for himself on the high school circuit.  During his senior year, Barkley ran for 1,856 yards and 31 touchdowns.  This is when his 4 star recruit status caught the eyes of the top college programs in America.

Barkley first committed to play football for Rutgers University, but then changed to Penn St.

Saquon Barkley College Biography

Barkley was an immediate success story at Penn St.  He got significant playing time as a freshman.  In fact, Barkley ran for 115 years with a TD in only his second game playing for the Nittany Lions.

During his freshman year, Barkley was sidelined for two games due to injury.  He returned with a vengeance.  He gained 194 yards on 26 carries against the Ohio State Buckeyes, who were ranked #1 in the nation at the time.  As a freshman, the young budding star rushed for 1,076 yards and 7 Touchdowns.

Sophomore Year Bio at Penn St.

Barkley was a semifinalist for the Maxwell Award during his sophomore season.  He was name Big 10 Offensive Player of the year.  In addition to this prestigious aware, he also won the Ameche-Dayne Running Back of the Year.  Finally, he was named to the first team All-Big Ten team.

In the Big 10 Championship game against the Wisconsin Badgers, Barkley helped lead Penn St. back from a 28-7 deficit to stun Wisconsin in a thriller that fans still talk about till this day.

To end his sophomore season, Saquon Barkley shined in the 2017 Rose Bowl.  he rushed for 194 yards in only 25 carries.  Barkley set a team record for rushing as a sophomore by picking up 1,496 yards on the ground.

Junior Year Biography

During his final year at Penn St. Barkley racked up many more offensive awards.  He was awarded the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week during his very first game by rushing for 172 yards on only 14 carries.  He also scored two touchdowns.

During Barkley’s Big Ten opener, Barkley amassed 358 all purpose yards.  He alone, outgained the entire Iowa Hawkeyes offense.  He ran for 211 yards, caught for 94 yards, and gained 53 kick return yards.  Once again, Barkley was named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week.

The Penn St. went on to win the 2017 Fiesta Bowl.  Shortly after the Bowl game, Saquon Barkley declared his intentions to enter the NFL draft.
